LOVE OF IT
Love of it is a part of my soccer worlds project investigating the various manifestations of soccer in our daily life.
In Nigeria, the beautiful game isn't confined to the stadium: from farmland to city roads, from beaches to markets, football belongs everywhere. “For the Love of It” is an ongoing series looking at the appropriation of football in unconventional environments. This series also has underlying questions of urban space planning in Africa. Why are our cities with a scarcity of recreation spaces for football? Why are there few spaces for pedestrians? Why are our cities fast becoming a concrete “jungle”?
The above are a few of the many puzzles I hope there will be a solution.
